Cincinnati Juvenile Charges Lawyer

Experienced Juvenile Charges Defense Attorney

Juveniles in Ohio are subject to the same criminal laws as adults. Fortunately however, penalties for juveniles in most cases are less than those for adults. Ohio juvenile courts focus on rehabilitation when appropriate given the nature of the offense and the juvenile's prior record. It is often possible in juvenile cases to avoid a conviction and permanent criminal record.

I am Robert R. Hart Jr., a defense attorney with more than 24 years experience in the juvenile justice system. In every juvenile case, I work vigorously to obtain the best outcome possible — one that avoids a conviction and criminal record whenever possible.

My firm defends young people accused of all types of crimes, including:

Avoiding a Conviction and Criminal Record

My goal in cases involving juvenile charges is to avoid a conviction and a criminal record if at all possible.

For lesser misdemeanors, it may be possible to obtain a dismissal of the charge or a probation outcome which provides for home-oriented solutions or community service rather than juvenile jail. In these types of cases, the young person can obtain an expungement which seals the criminal record. This can preserve the juvenile's educational and career options.

Juveniles charged with serious felony crimes can be tried in adult court. In this situation, my first objective will be to keep the case in juvenile court. Using my experience and knowledge gained from my years as a criminal defense lawyer, I will aggressively defend the juvenile's rights and freedom.

Protecting Your Future

Most adults have done reckless or foolish things in their youth. With experienced legal representation however, the young person can get a second chance in all but the most serious cases.

Your child's future is important to me. I will do everything I can to defend your child and protect his or her future.

I also represent juveniles in facing disciplinary actions in schools, colleges and universities.
