Driver convicted of fatal DUI accident in Ohio sentenced

A conviction for drunk driving in Ohio can come with various penalties and consequences, especially if an intoxicated driver causes an accident that results in death. One Ohio woman recently learned her punishment for her role in a motor vehicle crash that left her passenger with fatal injuries. The driver was intoxicated at the time of the single-vehicle accident, and she was arrested at the scene.

During the sentencing hearing, there were personal appeals from the defendant’s family members, as well as statements from the family of the deceased. After considering these statements and the facts of the case, the judge sentenced the driver to three to 15 years behind bars. The defendant will also go through a program aimed at helping with addiction.
