Distracted driver slams into 2 Ohio police cruisers

A 30-year-old Ohio man with a history of drunk driving allegedly crashed into two stationary police cruisers on the evening of Nov. 15. A Mayfield Heights Police Department sergeant is said to have suffered minor injuries in the crash. He was transported by paramedics to a local medical facility for treatment. A department representative said that he was released from the hospital the following day.

Police say that Smith was not taken into custody, but officers at the scene are said to have issued him with a court summons and impounded his vehicle. The incident took place on the evening of Oct. 20 at a DUI sobriety checkpoint in Franklin County.
